Miss Sarita; 18 yr old female came to Advanced Eye Hospital and Institute (AEHI) located at Sanpada, Navi Mumbai with chief complains of pain and watering from her left eye. She could not concentrate on her studies as her vision was blurry and would also have excessive tearing while studying. Finally fed up with tearing she told her parents about it who decided to take her for a consultation with an Eye specialist.

Shehad an appointment with Dr. Akshay Nair, Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery and Ocular Oncology.  Dr. Akshay Nair checked her eyes and diagnosed the condition as Dacryocystitis. He described about what is Dacryocystitis and the treatment for it. The treatment for Dacryocystitis was Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). She was scheduled for operation.

Sarita was given general anaesthesia. The operation to remove the blockage of the lacrimal sac began. Dr. Akshay Nair tried to open the blockage and successfully did it. She was kept under observation for a bit and was discharged back home the same day. She was given special instructions that she had to take care of . She was administered few medicines that would take care of her eye infection and heal her eyes fast.

Sarita came for her follow-up visits and now had no complains what so ever like she had earlier. Sarita and her parents were very thankful to Dr. Akshay Nair for helping their daughter with her problem.
