Optometry College Inauguration

With a view of enhancing optometry education in India, One Vision Trust & Research Foundation in association with Advanced Eye Hospital & Institute (AEHI) established a new college Advanced College of Optometry and Health Sciences (ACOHS).

The opening day celebrations of the college was held on 16th July 2017 in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. Advanced College of Optometry and Health Sciences (ACOHS) was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Akshay Arora who is not only the Director of Blue Circle Company but also an entrepreneur and a philanthropist.

The inauguration was started by lighting the lamp and ribbon cutting ritual of the classroom in presence of the dignitaries’ including, several entrepreneurs like Mr. Sunil Khanna, Mr. C.K. Agarwal, Hansraj Bafna, Dr. P. K. Agarwal and Mr. Jitendra Singh Saini. Other personages’ who also graced the occasion with their presence were Mr. Hiten Sethi, Managing Director, Hiten Sethi Architects Pvt Ltd, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Managing Director of S.K. Builders, Mr. Manoj Satia Trustee of our Trust & Managing Director of Mr. Manoj Multifoods Pvt. Ltd, Mrs. Ranju Satia, Trustee of our trust, Mr. Girish Dedhia, Trustee of Girish & Kumud Dedhia Charitable Foundation, Mr. Vinod Sharma, Owner of Unitech Group of Companies and Mr. Mohan Gurnani President, Federation of Maharashtra among others.

All these prominent guests offered their best wishes for our grand new venture. They further instilled confidence and motivated students and their parents to get familiar with the college resources and utilize it to make a difference in the eye care industry.

Dr. Vandana Jain, Managing Trustee, greeted all the dignitaries and also described the importance and need of quality optometry education in India. Dr. Jain, further thanked all the dignitaries who were present in a Sunday morning despite their very hectic schedule.

Mr. Pratyush Dhakal, Head of College and Senior Optometrist, stated the vision of the college “to provide quality education” and mission of the college “to become the best centre of optometry education in India” and a future plan of starting own charitable eye hospital.

It is already known that One Vision Health & Research Foundation is involved in a lot of charity events like free health check-up, free eye check-up, free distribution of glasses and free cataract surgery etc.

Ms. Pooja Yadav, another senior optometrist & faculty hosted the programme which beautifully ended with a vote of thanks rendered by the teaching faculty, that was preceded by delicious lunch.
