Laser Vision Correction:

Laser Vision Correction involves using a laser to reshape the cornea so to correct vision errors. A femto second laser is a special kind of laser used in modern day eye surgeries.

FLEx:

Femtosecond Lenticule Extraction (FLEx) is a type of Refractive Lenticule Extraction (ReLEx) technique of laser vision correction, the latest in Laser Vision Correction methods available today. A refractive lenticule is a disc shaped piece of corneal tissue. The FLEx Technique using the Visumax machine is currently available in just a handful of hospitals in India.

How FLEx surgery is performed:

The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia. A cut in the cornea is created along with the making of the corneal disc in the same step. This cut is then opened and folded back. The corneal lenticule created earlier is removed through the cut. The upper layer of the cornea is then turned back. The change in the form of the cornea corrects the refractive error.
